Phil brings a unique perspective to Segal Benz after more than 20 years of leading internal communication teams for Gap, Clorox, and Visa. He has broad experience communicating about initiatives from every HR discipline, from benefits and performance management, compensation, recognition, and talent development. Often brought in as the “communications guy” on a project, Phil has a knack for surprising his clients by asking questions that get them to think about whether there’s a better way to do something, not just a different way to talk about it. During his career, Phil’s led teams and assumed responsibility for a wide variety of communication challenges, including helping leaders align employees around strategy; rolling out new programs; managing change; handling mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; and responding to crises. Through it all, he’s earned a reputation for taking in copious amounts of information, distilling it, and then summarizing the most relevant points for different stakeholders.
