“I’m known for deciphering complex, jargon-heavy HR speak, and transforming it into conversational, easy-to-understand, and, whenever possible, compelling benefits messaging.”
As Senior Writer at Benz, Brian transforms dense, complicated information into everyday language that is both simple and engaging. He performs his writing wizardry on a daily basis with his primary client, Intuit. He has worked with the company on several major campaigns, conjuring up attention-grabbing content for high-profile web and print pieces. His other clients include Adobe, NetApp, NVIDIA, Salesforce, and State Street Global Advisors.
Brian has deep benefits experience, having worked in employee communications roles at Salesforce and Wells Fargo. He also has plenty of marketing expertise, serving as a copywriter at The Gap, Hotwire, CNet, and Macy’s.
We first met Brian while he was working for our client Salesforce. During his time there, Brian’s HR colleagues deemed him the “go-to guy” for communications because of his ability to weed out tired HR-isms (not to mention the nitty-gritty details that bog down employees). He’s now our go-to guy for the same reasons.
A native Oregonian, Brian lived in San Francisco for 18 years before returning to Portland in 2015 to be closer to his family.
A passionate traveler, Brian has a special love for Europe. He has visited more than 25 European countries, and hopes to hit all of the others within the next few years. If you manage to catch him at home in Portland, be ready for him to dish about his favorite destinations, along with his other loves—movies, music, and reading.
